This village lies beyond the airport, which was built next to the remains of a temple dedicated to Artemis (4th-3rd c. BC). The site is signposted from the road: all that remains are a few stone blocks and a much later chapel, which can be found by taking a path 400 m before the airport. Nearby, you can swim in Blefouti Bay, shaded by tamarisk trees and home to a delicious taverna. Continue towards the northern tip and the beach of Aghia Kioura, a small turquoise lagoon. Overlooking it, don't miss the Matrona Kioura church, with its touching frescoes by political opponents forcibly exiled during the dictatorship.
