Megalochori - meaning "big village" - is still commonly known as Milos. Incidentally, it is the administrative capital of Agistri, as it houses the mayor's office. However, it's a modest village with enchanting strolls along its winding streets, where you'll see some of the oldest houses on the island. All of them have belonged to the same families for many, many generations. The only drawback (depending on your tastes) is the absence of a beach, but this will encourage you to do a bit of walking or cycling!
