SOCIÉTÉ D'ASTRONOMIE DE TAHITI
The SAT organizes a public observation evening once a month. This evening takes place at the association observatory, located near the airport of Papeete, at the Cité de the air. Among the animations proposed, there is, of course, the observations made at the home of the giant telescope manufactured by one of the members of the company. Its diameter of 660 mm allows to examine in detail the planetary surfaces (the tormented atmosphere of Jupiter, Saturn rings, or lunar craters will no longer have any secrets for you), and an excellent approach to the objects of deep sky, clusters of stars, nebulous and galaxies, often very spectacular since l the southern hemisphere. Note that the rates announced by SAT are in Pacific Francs (1,000 francs per adult for the evening).
