In Tahiti, this traditional dance competition honours well-known troupes and small groups.
From the best-known dance groups to those created for the occasion, each year more than thirty participants compete in front of a full house, showcasing their creativity, their grace and the strength of this ever-evolving living dance. For a few years now, the Hura Tapairu Manihini competition, reserved for foreign troupes, has been part of the program. After an absence of 2 years, this unmissable event returned in force in 2022 for its 16th edition and was for the first time available in live streaming.
