Further afield, Burqu's lake appears as a mirage in the middle of the desert. The Bedouins in the region sometimes find themselves (by pick-up) for picnics.The site really deserves the detour but is too distant to be included in a one-day itinerary on the road of desert castles. You will need to take a tent to stay on site.
