Ancient city created in 106 by the Roman emperor Trajan himself after his victory over the Dacians.
This ancient city (Unesco tentative list) was created in 106 by the Roman emperor Trajan himself after his victory against the Dacians. It was built on the plan of a Roman legion camp - a square oriented to the cardinal points with all streets perpendicular to it, and was preserved as such because it was abandoned at the end of antiquity. You can walk on the cardo maximus and decumanus maximus and see the cloaca below, as well as visit theagora.

Situé quand même à 15 kms de Veliko Tarnovo (pas très bien indiqué et il vous faudra bien chercher votre chemin). Effectivement il est dans le pass visites sur 2 jours de Veliko Tarnovo et environ! Sinon il est localisé dans une zone assez "désertique" reculée de tout , le site est grandiose et s'étend sur une belle surface de visite, un plan vous est remis à l'entrée. Les vestiges sont bien mis en valeur et font encore l'objet de recherches et fouilles (une équipe était au travail lors de notre passage!) Tout y ait colonnes, bains, ancien therme, odéon, forum, rue pavée, ...etc une vraie ville romaine , les spécialistes apprécieront de même que les novices.
