INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY (БОГОСЛОВСКИ ФАКУЛТЕТ)

This imposing building was built in 1923 using remains of medieval architecture. Part of it is open to the public in the form of a Museum of Religious History and Archaeology (also called Museum of Sacred Art). There is a fine collection of icons, mainly from the National Renaissance period, as well as documents relating to Bulgarian independence and other religious objects, mostly from the 16th century.
