This Moorish-style synagogue bears witness to the importance of the Jewish presence in the capital.

Built between 1905 and 1910, this Moorish-style synagogue is the largest in Southeast Europe. Of superb architecture, it is even more dazzling inside! The small museum attached to the synagogue traces the history of the Jews in Bulgaria through English texts, photos and traditional objects. The free guided tour in English is very detailed. This building testifies to the importance of the Jewish presence in the capital. Not to be missed.
