It's one of the most charming churches in Buenos Aires. It belonged to the Jesuit order until he was expelled from the country. The adjoining building, once a prison, now houses the Museo Penitenciario. The different styles of its architecture (neoclassical, baroque and postcolonial) reflect the large number of architects who worked on it. The Spanish influence is perceptible in the earthenware tiles of the bell towers.
