Built in 1864, this establishment, located on the Galle Face Green and bordering the Indian Ocean, has lost none of its colonial lustre. The rooms and suites are luxurious and are divided between the Regency Wing and the Classic Wing, where major renovations have been carried out in recent years. The view of the sea from the terrace is magnificent and you can enjoy a refreshing swim by the pool. The hotel has 2 restaurants, 3 bars including the famous Chequerboard, perfect at sunset.

Cet hotel est un véritable mythe, de ces grands hotels d'Asie qui font tellement rêver... Alexandra david-Néel y a séjourné, c'est dire ! Nous avons passé 3 nuits dans cet établissement. Superb hotel, with a constant to and from cars in front of the entrance. You should go for a drink in the evening, we have been eating there for a handful of euros a sumptuous buffet with grills has hearty, desserts, etc. note that there are often weddings and banquets: festival of colours and music are then return.

It is expensive (especially there) but qu'est-cequ' is here and in the evening to mix with the inhabitants soak their feet in the water and party is a real pleasure, there just cross. Easy and comforting because some parts of Colombo night fear a little...
