THEATRE & MUNICIPAL CULTURAL CENTRE

Monumental architecture gives a certain allure to the place. The building was designed by Imre Makovecz, an artist who wanted to revive Austro-Hungarian classicism by criticizing communist standardization. The cultural project was born out of a bilateral partnership between Slovenia and Hungary. It now houses a beautiful library as well as a theatre which hosts an eclectic and qualitative programme, especially for such a small town.
