To extend your visa, all you need is one or two hours. However, the wait can be (much) longer, in which case you'll be told when to return to collect your passport. The Intramuros immigration office is the main office, but there are numerous regional branches in Cebu and the islands. As a reminder, it is possible to travel to the Philippines for 1 month without a visa, and to apply locally for a 29-day extension for PHP 3,000. For stays longer than 2 months, a visa is required before departure.
