Travel Guide Choyr

This town in the north of theaimag became the capital of a new aimag, Govi Sumber, in 1994. During the Soviet period it was a military base. Located on the railroad, it was declared a free trade zone, which does not seem to have had any influence on its development... It is interesting, however, for its supplies and for the proximity of the springs of Khalzan Uul and Burgasan Amny Raschaan, whose curative virtues, mainly for the joints and the stomach, attract crowds. A statue of the first Mongolian cosmonaut, Jügderdemidiin Gürragchaa, can also be seen here, not far from the railroad.
