INSTITUTE OF ASTRONOMY AND GEOPHYSICS

Opened in 2014, this museum is about astronomy and its development in Mongolia. It is located in the Mongolian Astronomy Research Center. Here you can see the original Soyuz capsule and learn about the saga of Mongolia's first cosmonaut, Gürragcha Zhügderdemidiyn, who made only one flight into space in 1981. He works for the center in an honorary position. A planetarium presents the constellations in 20-minute sessions that are well worth a visit.
