Founded in 2001, Aero Mongolia is one of the two main Mongolian airlines. It operated its first flight in 2003. Today, it offers domestic flights to Khovd, Ölgiy, Uvs, Altai and Zavkhan, as well as international flights to Irkutsk, Russia, and Narita, Japan. Most of the flights are weekly, except for the route between Ulaanbaatar and Khovd, which is operated three times a week. This company is not very punctual and is recommended only as a last resort. Cancellation of flights is frequent and compensation is rare.
