3 km west of Ghadamès. At the entrance to the old town, a Koranic school is still in service. At the entrance to the oasis, one can see a dalou (this balancier shaft, the water was then transported to the oasis by an underground channel), now neglected for a pump sink. Some gardens in the small oasis are still maintained, but the desert gains and precious dates landed on the ground are often picked up. The women of this oasis were renowned for the quality of their tissages. The beautiful old town of Tunin has been abandoned like that of Ghadamès and has recently been the subject of renovation work by UNESCO.
