VISIT TO TSAVO PARK EAST
Visit to a park with beautiful scenery and various animals, various interesting tours to explore.
From Voi Gate, the most classic and most frequented circuit is the one that leads to the Aruba lake (artificial water reservoir for animals in case of drought) along the small Voi river, which is a river in name only since it has water only a few weeks a year. The tracks are good and wind through dense vegetation. If you continue straight on or head south towards Buchuma Gate, you will soon find yourself in the middle of a semi-desert region where you can sometimes see large herds of elephants.
Heading further north, you reach Manyani Gate. The track that starts on the right hand side follows the Galana River to Sala Gate. This superb route allows you to admire the dense and varied vegetation along the banks, populated by dozens of bird species. Halfway along the route, Luggard Falls are actually rapids that flow down a narrow rift before cascading down below. In dry weather (which is most of the year), the rapids turn into a ridiculous trickle of water. However, whatever the season, the crocodiles are always there. On the other side of the river lies the huge Yatta Plateau, considered to be one of the largest lava flows in the world (over 300 km).
Mudanda rock is one of the stops on a tour of Tsavo East. This huge isolated granite rock resembles, but is much smaller than, the famous Ayer's Rock in Australia.
