The grave of Lord Robert Baden-Powel, founder of the scouting movement, and developer of the concept of territorial recognition
Baden-Powell was born in 1857 in London. He joined the Royal Army at the age of 19. This led him to India, then a British colony, where he developed the concept of reconnaissance of unknown territories, which led to the formation of "scouts". For many travellers, this is the main reason for their visit to Nyeri: to see the grave of the founder of the scouting movement, who died in 1941 at the age of 83. For others, it is just another grave.
