KISUMU MUSEUM

This small museum, inaugurated in 1980, is quite rich and well organized, and exhibits interesting collections of traditional objects: agricultural tools, musical instruments, furniture, stuffed animals, including an amazing wildebeest attacked by a lioness! It also organizes educational tours for local schoolchildren. Research activities also play an important role, particularly in limnology. A number of sites and monuments of historical importance are attached to the Kisumu Museum (Fort Tenan, Songhor, Thimlich Ohinga and the Rusinga Islands).
