ETHIO-DJIBOUTI RAILWAY (EDR)

There are two places to buy a train ticket from Diré Dawa to Addis Ababa or from Diré Dawa to Adama, either at the new guard directly or at the Ethio-Djibouti Railway downtown ticket office at the old train station. Departure for Addis Ababa at 8am every even day, arrival from Addis Ababa every odd day except the 31st at 6:16pm. Please note that you cannot buy a ticket for Djibouti if you have not paid for all the formalities in Addis Ababa beforehand. You will have to fly to Djibouti from Diré Dawa with an e-visa or by purchasing a visa on arrival at the airport
