BOTANICAL PARK (BOTANIKOS SODAS)

This magnificent 100-hectare park, created in 1899, is located at the southern end of Rue Vytauto, and was designed by French landscape architect and botanist Édouard-François André. With its lush vegetation and swan-filled waterways, it's the ideal place for those seeking a break from the noise and bustle of the beach and city center. Here stands Birutė Hill, an ancient pagan place of worship. A ^19th-century chapel stands at the top of the hill.
