ANAIČIAI ETHNOGRAPHIC CEMETERY

This cemetery (Anaičių Etnografinės Kapinės) is absolutely worth a visit. It features an extraordinary collection of 19th and early 20th century graves testifying to the ethnic complexity of the region. The inscriptions are in Lithuanian, German, Polish and also in an ancient Curonian dialect. The cemetery is located a few kilometres south of Palanga, past the small village of Nemirseta. As there are no signs, it is better to go there by taxi.
