MUSEUM OF SACRED ART (SAKRALINIO MENO MUZIEJUS)

Peninsula Castle is Trakai's other castle. Built more or less at the same time, it was intended to defend both Trakai and Vilnius. Destroyed during the Russo-Polish war in the ^17th century, its territory was donated to the Dominican order for the construction of a monastery. In the ^19th-century Dominican monks' chapel, relics and liturgical objects, objects from the monks' daily lives, paintings and statues are on display.
