OLD ARSENAL (SENASIS ARSENALAS)

Opened in 1856, this museum deals with the history of the Baltic region, through collections of utensils, tools and jewellery from archaeological excavations. From prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, more than 4,000 items are on display, providing an insight into the customs and traditions of the Baltic tribes. The museum has accumulated, preserved and exhibited the historical heritage of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Numerous temporary exhibitions are organized as well as cultural history evenings.
