KGB BUILDING (MĀJA MĀJA)

Rīga jokes that it was only from the balconies of this building that you could see Siberia... Sadly, the reality is much more tragic: during the Soviet era, the state police, the notorious KGB, imprisoned, tortured and killed many Latvians within these walls. On the guided tour, you can visit the cells and courtyard and learn more. Depressing but instructive. Tip: start with the Occupation Museum.
