You can't miss this huge Stalinist building. The local nickname for this impressive Soviet construction is "Stalin's crushed birthday cake". Today, this twenty-three storey building houses an Academy of Sciences, but above all the famous cupboard of dainas (Latvian traditional songs) entirely collected and published by the author K. Barons. You have the opportunity to climb up there to observe the panorama of Rīga and beyond.
