Each spacious cottage has a choice of twin or double beds, equipped with the softest bedding and feather pillows. An indoor sitting area leads to a private terrace where you can enjoy morning tea or coffee overlooking the lake and Rwenzori Mountains. The private bathrooms feature marble sinks set on Elgon olive tree pedestals, freestanding clawfoot tubs, and glass-walled showers. With modern solar power, you'll always have hot water and electric charging points.
Living and Dining Room
The finest three-course cuisine awaits you in the main lodge. The menu is based on classic European cuisine and adapted to use local ingredients, many of which are hand-picked from Kyaninga Lodge's own garden or from nearby markets. After dinner, head to the lounge where you can relax by the fire with a drink from the well-stocked bar. During the day, head to the deck and relax on the sun loungers with a view of Lake Kyaninga. In this equatorial paradise, you'll feel a world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and you are; with wireless internet access in the Main Lodge, you'll still be able to share your adventures with your loved ones.
Pool
The deck leads to the pool overlooking the lake. Lined with cobblestones carved from the local volcanic rock and featuring two wooden decks, the pool offers the perfect space to relax and unwind. Here you can soak up the peace and tranquility of Lake Kyaninga and the mountains beyond. The more adventurous can walk to Lake Kyaninga itself. With its blue waters and "time-forgotten" rainforest, it offers a unique opportunity to experience a wilderness rarely encountered in real life. The lake is one of the few in Uganda where it is safe to swim. It is a true paradise.
Kyaninga's grounds
The edge of a spectacular crater lake is the perfect starting point for your exploration of this hidden area. When you step out of your cottage, your adventure begins here. The beautiful gardens at Kyaninga Lodge are the creation of London-based landscape designer Imogen Jenkins. The gardens provide a beautiful setting for relaxation, reflection and play. There is even a lawn tennis court available. With amazing wildlife on your doorstep, take a guided walk around the beautiful crater lake and Kyaninga Forest. See how many species of primates you can spot.
