Planted in the middle of eucalyptus trees, on a hilly peninsula where agriculture predominates, the Edirisa camp ("window" in chiga) will delight backpackers. The dormitory, cottage and family house are simple but very clean and equipped with mosquito nets. Open-air showers and wooden cabins, which serve as toilets, are never far away. Meals (including breakfast at 8,000 Ush) are excellent bills. Also note the free access to wifi, the establishment's canoes and the unlikely swimming pool. Modest prices and a nice welcome!

Edirissa at Lake Bunyonyi is more than just a camp – it’s a haven with a heart. The staff goes above and beyond, creating an atmosphere that feels like home. What sets this place apart is its genuine commitment to the Bufuka village community. Edirissa doesn’t just coexist; it actively supports and uplifts the community. The meaningful engagement and support they provide make this camp not only a place of comfort but a force for positive change. An unforgettable experience in every sense.

Very nice eco campsite, the best we saw around this part of the lake, great vibes if you want to relax. The tree house overlooking the lake is just perfect, and there are hammocks in the shade and a pontoon from which you can go for a swim! Very cool team which runs the place. Also a boat for free use, if available. Just be careful on the road there, only 4x4 access.

I had such great days at this place. They offer to pitch your tent for a more than fair price. You have direct access to swim in the lake and a common area with lake views. The food in the restaurant is really good and freshly made with ingredients from the local markets. You can borrow their traditional canoe whenever they don't neet it themselves. The place is run by a small NGO which supports the school located just next door. You can get in touch before via whatsapp and they'll answer all your questions, also with regard to public transport, getting a boda etc...
On top, Arthur, Trust and their team were just the nicest people and it was a pleasure staying with them.

This was our best stay in Uganda (although it´s a shared first place)!

The staff is extremely helpful and accomodating. Nothing was too much to ask and they really loved talking about their community, which gave us more insight into our surroundings.

We had a lovely area overlooking the lake to perch our tents on. The toilets are eco and basic, but clean.

We had a great time swimming in and canoeing on the lake, and just overall relaxing surrounded by all the natural beauty.

The food was delicious, especially the banana pancakes! We stayed for 2 days, and leaving was definitely bittersweet.

All the best to our amazing hosts!
