Built on the Bay of Honey, at the entrance to the city, the fort commanded the maritime and land access to Baracoa. Fully restored, it now houses the Municipal Museum. Note the rooms dedicated to the Indian era. Also note the registers of immigrants with a long list of Frenchmen who arrived from Haiti at the end of the 18th century. Finally, note the samples of the 120 species of trees, which provide precious woods to local artisans and sculptors.
