The carnival of Santiago de Cuba is the most important carnival of the Oriente but also of the country, even of the Caribbean!

It is the oldest, most famous, most sensual and certainly the most popular carnival in Cuba and even in the Caribbean. It originally marks the end of the sugar harvest in the region and does not take place during the pre-Lent period. The festivities take place during the last week of July, from July 21 to 28, and more particularly from July 24 to 26, when decorated floats and dancers parade in colorful clothes in a crazy atmosphere.
