Carnival, introduced by the Spaniards, has become a true popular national holiday. Integrating African traditions, both in music and in dance, it is today one of the central elements of Cuban cultural identity. Between July 15 and August 15, Havana's Malecón vibrates every weekend to the rhythm of music, dances and float parades. The comparsas (large popular troupes) have a great time. The public, seated on bleachers or standing along the avenues, enjoys the show.

Carnaval qui vaut le coup. Il commence vers 20h30. Pour en profiter il vaut mieux devancer les chars car il y a pas mal de monde. Il y a des places assises mais payantes. Il se termine sur le Malecon. Les chars sont superbes.
