Then there it is difficult to be expressed on the taxis in Cuba, there is everything and nothing:
the official taxis have a standard price, but often does not apply it and do the price in charge of the guest or among transported travellers, it is a negotiation at any moment, that goes from the simple to triple, courage to fill a reasonable price!
otherwise there are also nonofficial taxis that mix with others and that make competition without any problem in general (often individuals with their own vehicle or rent) that does not problem with the police, that is part of life here to Cuba and everyone can enjoy it
I very experienced without any problem, as well into short and long distance.
To remember: transport is difficult for Cubans.
