The entrance is charming and the interior as simple as the kitchen. The Peranakan Inn offers you typical Peranakan dishes, otherwise known as nonyan, which is a subtle blend of Malaysian and Chinese cuisine. The prices are rather reasonable and the plates are copious. Among others: Chap Chye, a meat stew, Bakwang Kepiting, a soup with pork dumplings, chick prawns, assam prawns or assam fish. The typical Peranakan-style house, otherwise known as a shophouse, used to be a hotel, recently closed.
