The first buses were introduced in Singapore in 1925 to replace the non-functioning streetcar system. Since then, public buses have been operated by four different companies: Go Ahead Singapore, SBS Transport, SMRT, Tower Transit Singapore. In 2020, the city-state had more than 5,800 vehicles making around 352 journeys. The buses are air-conditioned and some are double-decker, so you can enjoy the view during your journey.
