Off the east coast of Sabah, this archipelago with its interesting seabed includes the islands of Selingan, Gulisan and Bakungan Kecil. It is a conservation center for turtles, which have been nesting here for centuries. Green turtles make Selingan their home to lay their eggs, particularly between August and October. The hawksbill turtles, on the other hand, clearly prefer Gulisan, which is closed to the public. Most visitors stay overnight, as it is in the evening that the turtles lay their eggs and the hatchlings are released back into the ocean. The boat to Selingan Island leaves the Crystal Quest pier at around 9.30 am.
