Without being immersed in tribal culture, local touches have been distilled into the decor and the name, which means "gentle river" in the Kenyah language. Owner's Message
In 1989, Datuk Stephen Wan Ullok, a native of Sarawak and member of the Kenyah tribe, opened the Telang Usan Hotel in Kuching. This hotel was created with one vision in mind: to run a hotel whose service reflects the kindness and friendliness of Sarawak culture. It features a special décor with authentic Orang Ulu artwork, while still meeting international hotel standards of comfort and cleanliness. The name "Telang Usan" refers to Datuk Stephen Wan Ullok's birthplace in the heart of Borneo. To this day, the Telang Usan Hotel is owned and managed by the Wan Ullok family.
Located in a leafy corner of downtown Kuching, the Telang Usan Hotel offers 66 comfortably furnished rooms. The room categories available offer options for everyone, from small, comfortable rooms for solo travelers to spacious rooms for families. Connecting rooms are also available.
Lamin, the hotel restaurant, is open all day and serves Malaysian and Western dishes. It is best known for its local delicacies, giving travelers a taste of authentic Sarawak cuisine.
