Southern Marines Steel Orchestra

The Southern Marine Steelband Orchestra is San Fernando's oldest steelband, and can be visited to learn more about the steelpan and steelbands in general. Malomo, the steelband's captain, is also one of the few craftsmen who knows how to make a steelpan from the can to the finished instrument, which is his passion. This friendly yet impressive character will show you all the steps involved in making this surprising instrument.
