WE BEAT FESTIVAL

A week-long mid-year event celebrating the rich diversity of cultures as well as the incorporation of St. James into the city of Port of Spain. The festival has a strong emphasis on local culture, so there's an evening pan to celebrate steelpan, kaiso shows, children's entertainment, as well as local musical genres including soca, chutney, tassa and jazz. It usually coincides with the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival, an opportunity to combine the pleasures of the eyes and ears.
