The old Union Club dates back to 1917. After serving as an exclusive club for Panamanian high society until 1969, it was occupied by Panamanian military forces, before being bombed during the North American invasion in late 1989. The place remained in ruins for 30 years and was then used as a set for a James Bond movie. Rehabilitated as a luxury hotel, the Sofitel opened its doors at the end of 2022. Certainly THE future chic destination, not to be missed if your budget allows it.
