In 2022, Maito was ranked 6th on the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America. A great recognition for chef Mario Castrellón. After studying in Barcelona, he is one of the Panamanian chefs who have sought to give a modern identity to Panamanian cuisine, using ancestral ingredients and knowledge gathered from peasants and Amerindian communities. Tropical tasting menus, mix of Amerindian, Afro-Caribbean, Asian and European flavors. The restaurant is not too stuffy and the setting is pleasant.
