This village, located 4 km from Douentza, is known for its cave engravings and museum of Dogon art. The creation of this museum meets several objectives. It allows for the preservation of a number of parts of the looting that tourists often lend themselves to, while presenting them to those who have a better understanding of Dogon traditions. But it is also a micro-credit agency: in exchange for an object he lends to the museum, the villagers will be given a loan allowing him to purchase seeds to plant millet, to buy cattle… If he does not repay, the object becomes the property of the museum which can sell it. If it pays, it can either recover the object or enter a new loan.In Fombory you can also visit tellem houses that still contain the skeletons of these men.
