POLICE

The city of Ramallah has a Palestinian civil police force committed to ensuring the safety and security of society by providing excellent policing services. The police work in cooperation with local, regional and international partners to uphold the freedoms and rights of Palestinians. They are also committed to upholding the law and values. The Palestinian police recently opened a mobile office for family protection and juvenile department work in the Jerusalem governorate. They also organized a workshop in Bethlehem in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation. The Palestinian police also took part in the first international conference on community policing in Ramallah. The Chief of Police, Major General Hazem Attallah, met with the Secretary General of the United Nations in Ramallah. The Palestinian police also opened a unified service center for women survivors of domestic violence.
