HAIFA MARITIME MUSEUM

Israel's main port had to have a museum dedicated to the maritime history of the eastern Mediterranean. Here you can see interesting models of Phoenician, Egyptian, Philistine and warships from the 17th to the 19th century. Also worth seeing are the jars and amphoras, cargoes of merchant ships from the Bronze Age to the Byzantine period, unearthed during excavations. The museum also evokes the history of the Israeli navy since the actions of the Jewish resistance army.
