Haifa's film library is one of the city's oldest artistic centres. Its role since 1975 has been to educate, promote and support the arts of film. The Film Library is the key venue for the Haifa International Film Festival, which takes place every year between the Jewish holidays of Sukkot and Simhat Torah, which usually fall in October.
