Not far from the Israel Museum, the Bible Lands Museum is dedicated to the civilizations of the Promised Land between 6000 BC and 600 AD. Founded in 1992, the museum's origins lie in the collection that Dr. Elie Borowsky, a Jew of Polish origin, assembled over several decades: three to four thousand pieces from all the countries of the ancient Near East, from Egypt to the eastern Mediterranean, from Anatolia to western Afghanistan. Activities for families are scheduled at weekends and on special occasions.
