Municipal market built to supply the eastern peninsula in Oxkutzcab

The municipal market of Oxkutzcab was built in 1972 to supply the eastern part of the peninsula. The fresco of its facade was painted by the artist Maya Baas. The one also called Mercado 20 of Noviembre is nice to visit because it offers the opportunity to discover the delicious tropical fruits that the region produces: dragon fruit, watermelon, corossol, pineapple, grapefruit and other fruits with names unknown in our regions. Even the avocados are surprising with their very different physiognomy from our region.
