OMIECH is an NGO built by midwives and doctors who care for traditional medicines. It has established a health centre in San Cristóbal, the CEDEMM, where the population can be treated. The Museo de la Medicina Maya is part of this full project: it presents the curative practices of the tzotzil and tzeltal communities. It is possible to seek body and soul treatments, purification and traditional steam baths (temazcal).
