The city's anthropology museum traces the history of the peninsula from prehistoric times to the 1910 revolution. The archaeological remains that can be admired give an idea of how the first inhabitants of the region lived. The place also has a temporary exhibition room and a good bookstore with many books in Spanish about the region. Next door is a beautiful public library housed in a historic building.
