FIESTA DE LA VIRGEN DE URKUPIÑA

The festivities begin in Cochabamba with a folkloric parade, while the second day is dedicated to the festival. At dawn on the third day, the faithful begin the pilgrimage to the Calvary on the mountain in the village of Quillacollo, a few kilometres west of Cochabamba. The tradition is, once the summit is reached, to take a stone, and if the prayers and devotion of the faithful are sincere, then the Virgin of Urkupiña will grant them wealth through this process.
