What a marvellous sight the flight of red ibises in the twilight! These majestic bipeds make their home in the Sinnamary estuary, where hundreds of ibises gather to feast at night. Joseph, a passionate guide, will take you in his pirogue to the front row of this moving moment: the flight of groups of these magnificent birds is enchanting. Don't forget to dress appropriately and take your mosquito repellent: between dog and wolf, mosquitoes attack!

Joseph P. nous a surtout fait partager son planteur car les explications étaient maigres et pas forcément facile à comprendre. Sans être antipathique il n'est pas franchement avenant non plus... En revanche il est très disponible et vous emmène, même si vous n'êtes que 3. Nous avons aperçu des ibis à plusieurs reprises et le soleil couchant était à tomber. Attention au soleil, faites comme nous, achetez des "parapluies" immenses chez un chinois, à Sinnamary ou ailleurs...

Un enchantement ! Excursion effectuée avec Atmosphère d'Amazonie (30 euros / pers) : le guide (local) ne se répand pas en explications (personnellement, je préfère) mais il sait vous emmener dans les bons endroits (toutes sortes d'oiseaux, poissons gros yeux, caïman) et vous servir le ti'punch... Nombreuses occasions de voir les ibis rouges (en vol, dans les arbres, sur l'estran).
